As one of two lead developers for this project, I owned the development process end-to-end, beginning with client and user interview research, examining goals and tradeoffs, selecting libraries, frameworks, and making decisions on software architecture components throughout the process, and building out a complex production-ready design system for an intelligence company.
Some highlights of implementation include providing architecture recommendations to the client, leading the token service connection to link Figma and the development tools for an efficient design translation between designers and developers, teaching developers at the client organization how to use the design system, researching and implementing maps capabilities for modularized geographical components, modularizing dynamic components like the search filter, date and time pickers, and article previews, and contributing to an unprecedented search bar with many intelligence capabilities.
