Kellyn Dassler
Creative Technologist || Artist || Software Developer
I am a new media and interactive installation artist blending the physical and digital and blurring boundaries between artist and viewer.
Drawing upon my background in computer science, poetry and fiction writing, dedication to ethical artificial intelligence practices, and love for art, I experiment with poetry, sculpture, projection mapping, machine learning libraries, and spatial and immersive technologies to explore themes of digital and physical translations, repurposing digital artifacts, physical embodiment, intersectional feminism, and unexpected joy or discomfort.
Recently, I created interactive digital sculptures and poetic projection installations for mondegreen’s Charity Art Event and After City Limits Silent Disco, frog design’s PoP SXSW Party, and experimented at MoHA's CATS+ showcase. Currently, I am working on designing kinetic data sculptures and an interactive short film, in addition to creating tech workshops for artists. I’m also available for custom projection mapping installations or development work.
By day, I am a senior software engineer with a passion for immersive experiences, extended reality, applied artificial intelligence, natural user interfaces, and interactive experiences. In addition to these areas, I’ve shipped and contributed to several customer-facing web and mobile apps incorporating generative AI and extended reality, and design systems (and even a hologram once). In my free time, I love to rock climb, dance, cook, and volunteer with women in STEM organizations.
Let’s talk or build something together!
